Chapter 2
Mixing Procedure
Source section: how it works, 2003 documentation set
The mixing sequence below is the core procedure of this manual. It applies to concrete, mortar and any other dry material being blended with a liquid on the sheet.
How it works
- Lay the CRETE SHEET on the ground.
- Place the dry cement mix or materials to be mixed onto the center of the sheet.
- Raise up the corners using the specially made handles, leaving material resting on the ground.
- Pour the appropriate amount of water or liquid (all at once or in smaller amounts) into the mix.
- Alternately lifting the handles, tumble mixture back-and-forth from corner into the center of the sheet.
- Tilt the CRETE SHEET and pour into the desired area.
- Rinse with a hose for clean-up or discard.
HintIf possible, a water hose with a spray nozzle is an excellent tool to have near a mixing location. A hose can aid in mixing by adding water in small amounts until concrete consistency is met.
CautionIf too much water is added the mixture will be soupy, decreasing the strength of the concrete.
